Electronic solutions for swaps and automotive projects

Seaside Customs specialises in designing automotive electronics, CAN communication and standalone solutions for Mercedes-Benz automatic gearboxes. Here we build devices and software that let components run in swap, restomod and motorsport projects — even when the factory controllers can't talk to each other.

Every solution is built on real analysis of the CAN bus, controller logic and the requirements of the specific vehicle. Instead of universal compromises we create solutions designed for the specific configuration and the way the car behaves.

Describe your project Scope of services

R&D base

Engineering built on CAN analysis

The foundation of Seaside Customs projects is our own research-and-development base. Years of analysing thousands of CAN frames and working with different manufacturer platforms led to the creation of Smart CAN Tool 3 — a professional tool for analysing, decoding and comparing CAN bus communication.

It is the knowledge developed while building Smart CAN Tool 3 that lets us precisely identify dependencies between controllers, find missing signals and design emulators and CAN bridges that behave like factory modules.

Scope of services

From a single conversion to a complete project

Diagnostics

ECU and EGS diagnostics

Analysis of CAN communication, identification of missing signals and diagnostics of engine and gearbox controllers.

Standalone

Standalone systems

Running 7G-Tronic (722.9) gearboxes outside the factory vehicle architecture and integrating with non-standard engine controllers.

See VGS-Bridge →

Emulation

Emulators of missing modules

Simulating the operation of ABS, EZS, the gear selector, the brake pedal and other modules required for the drivetrain to work correctly.

Example: MB ABS-Bridge →

CAN bridges

CAN bridges and converters

Translating communication between controllers of different makes and generations, letting components that were never factory-fitted together work as one.

The CAN-Bridge series →

Embedded

Bespoke embedded projects

Designing dedicated devices based on STM32 microcontrollers, custom firmware and individual hardware solutions.

Who it's for

For workshops and ambitious projects

The offer is aimed at workshops doing swaps, companies building restomods and show cars, motorsport teams and clients running non-standard projects for which no ready solutions exist.

From analysing CAN logs, through electronics and software design, to testing on real controllers — Seaside Customs delivers complete solutions that work as if they were part of the factory installation.

Where series electronics reaches its limits, Seaside Customs solutions begin.

How we work

  • Analysis of the CAN logs and bus of the donor and recipient vehicle
  • Electronics and software design for the specific configuration
  • Emulators and bridges that behave like factory modules
  • Tested on real controllers before release

Describe your project

Tell us what vehicle you have, what engine and what gearbox, what you want to get running and which controllers you use. We'll reply with what can be done and where to start — from a single conversion to a complete swap solution.
